Hey, movie fans!

Here’s what’s happening in movies. Kyle Buchanan gave us a first look at Chadwick Boseman’s final film, “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,” while Boseman’s brothers shared their remembrances of the actor. For National Hispanic Heritage Month, Carlos Aguilar did a great survey of must-watch films centered on American Latino protagonists.

With movie theaters continuing to reopen along with other cultural institutions, we weighed the risks of returning and precautions to take. And still, the most high-profile movie currently playing in theaters is “Tenet.” Nicolas Rapold spoke with some of Nolan’s regular collaborators about how they help pull off his technical feats. Plus, Wesley Morris looked back at a year when the box office was robust, 1988, to discuss the pull of movies like “Die Hard” and “Cocktail.”

Out this week in theaters is the latest from a Coppola (Sofia), “On the Rocks” and a Cronenberg (Brandon), “Possessor.” Both are Critics’ Picks along with the Kirsten Johnson documentary hybrid “Dick Johnson is Dead.”

Enjoy the movies!
